Welcome to the Austin Academy 6th grade science website. This site was set up and designed as a resource for 6th grade science classes at Austin Academy. We have so many great activities, labs, classroom experiences, etc. for you this year. Sixth grade science is almost totally new this year and we can hardly wait to explore it with you. We will start our year with Unit 1 ~ Florida. While studying this unit, we will have the following enduring understandings: The Solar System is composed of objects that have their own unique properties.
Gravity is the controlling force of all motion in the universe.
Space exploration changes with technological advancements.
Solar power is a viable resource for both space exploration and use on Earth.
An ecosystem consists of biotic and abiotic factors.
All organisms are made up of one or more cells and classified as being in either the archaea, bacteria, or eukaryote domain. Remember, anytime you need additional help, please make arrangements to attend our tutorials. We meet Monday afternoons from 3:50 until 4:50 and Wednesdays from 8:00 until 8:40.
