| COMPETITIVE SCIENCE EVENTS AT AUSTIN ACADEMY ALL STUDENTS ENROLLED IN ENRICHED HONORS OR HONOR SCIENCE CLASSES MUST COMPETE IN A COMPETITIVE SCIENCE EVENT. STUDENTS MAY SATISIFY THE COMPETITIVE SCIENCE EVENT REQUIREMENT IN ONE OF SEVERAL DIFFERENT WAYS HERE AT AUSTIN ACADEMY: OPTION 1: WINSTON SCIENCE WINSTON SCIENCE WILL BE HELD: October 1, 2011 through November 11, 2011 Check Winston Science website for event times and locations. Your science teacher will have a list of approved events for your grade level. Over 22,000 participants took part in Winston Science 2010, a 20-day series of events designed to help motivate students in the sciences. Hosted by the Dallas Mavericks, HDNet, and The Winston School, students have the opportunity to take part in 66 events, hear outstanding presentations, and work with scientists from across the country. Students will take care of their registration and transportation to their event(s). OPTION 2: AUSTIN SCIENCE AUSTIN SCIENCE WILL BE HELD SEPTEMBER 7, 2011 THROUGH October 26, 2011. Check Austin Science Events catalog for event times and locations. Your science teacher will have a list of approved events for your grade level.
