WELCOME

Dear Parents,

The Austin Academy sixth grade teachers welcome both you and your child to the 2010-2011 school year! We are thrilled to have you join us. As a group, we work collaboratively to provide a caring, dynamic, student-centered environment for your child. As a result, we feel strongly about the importance of working with you the parent in order to help your child attain the greatest level of success possible.
In order to facilitate a successful year, the sixth grade teachers have met to develop well-organized interdisciplinary lessons that will excite and invigorate the natural curiosities of your child. We have also worked together to develop consistent rules and expectations. It is through this consistency that we will insure that a safe, secure school environment will continue to flourish at Austin Academy.

Also, a sixth grade tutorial and e-mail information sheet is located in your child's assignment spiral. For security reasons, please reference your child's name in the e-mail subject box when sending an e-mail to us.
We know that many of you were very involved at the elementary school level in PTA. We have a great middle school chapter at Austin Academy. Please take time to check them out at-Austin Academy PTA.
We are always available to help you with any questions or concerns throughout the year, and we are looking forward to meeting with you at Meet the Teacher Night in September.
